Nigerian Dwarf goats are one of the most popular miniature goat breeds in the world, and for good reason. This breed has a rich history dating back to the 1980s when they were first developed in the United States. The Nigerian Dwarf Goat Association (NDGA) was established in 1993 to promote and preserve this breed, which was originally created by crossing local Nigerian goats with smaller dairy breeds like the Nubian. At Tri-Maples Farm, we’re fortunate enough to have a small herd of Nigerian Dwarf goats that we keep around for pleasure, as well as attempting to breed them in the future. We find these animals to be incredibly friendly and intelligent, with a unique personality that makes them a joy to work with. With their compact size, lush coats, and adorable faces, it’s no wonder why Nigerian Dwarf goats have become so popular among small farmers and hobbyists alike. Whether you’re looking for a new pet or want to add some diversity to your farm, these goats are sure to bring a smile to your face – just ask any of our lucky customers who’ve had the pleasure of meeting them
